*These are in order from lowest price to highest – give or take, as prices change.
Any of these would make a FINE addition to your life. It just depends on your own personal tastes.
1. Lila Notebooks
Even though Lila Notebooks are a little-known brand, there’s a lot to like about them.
For one, there’s something for everyone. The multipurpose journals are offered in a variety of colors, sizes, and page types.
And for two:
They’re easily some of the cheapest bullet journal notebooks you can get your hands on.
The only (potential) drawbacks:
- in true minimalist fashion there are no extras
- lower paper quality and less pages than others on this list
For the price point though, I think these are a solid value.
2. Classic Notebook by BooQool
If you prefer something with a hardcover, this next option will be more up your alley.
The BooQool Classic Notebook lives up to the name. It boasts a simple but effective design.
Extra features include:
- lay flat 180° design
- bookmark ribbon
- back cover pocket
Rest assured, you can get the job done with this journal.
Overall:
It’s a well-made journal and has excellent reviews.
3. Minimalism Art Bullet Journal
This Minimalism Art journal is sturdy and elegantly simple, with reviews that speak highly of it.
Plus, all the color, size, and format options make it quite appealing.
Extra features include:
- lie-flat opening
- bookmark ribbon
- accordion pocket
- quality paper that boasts no bleeding or feathering
I think it’s a winner of a bullet journal notebook.
You can even save a little bit by opting for a softcover instead of a hardcover.
4. Northbooks Notebook
Next up we have a notebook which could be the best notebook for bullet journaling. That final decision is up to you, though.
Meet the Northbooks Notebook. This a truly minimalist notebook, making it perfect for bullet journaling.
It keeps the focus on WHAT you put to paper. It’s more of a “no frills” type of notebook.
Note that there’s:
- no pocket, elastic closure, or bookmark ribbon
I like that Northbooks are made in the USA and created with sustainability in mind.
5. Poluma Bullet Journal
We’re now almost halfway through my list of the best bullet journal notebooks. Have any caught your eye, yet?
Next up is another lesser known notebook that is sure to please – the Poluma Dotted Grid Journal.
It’s simple, sturdy, and reviewers say there is no ghosting on pages.
The extra features are the same as many others, including:
- lay flat 180° design
- bookmark ribbon
- back cover pocket
For under $10, you can’t go wrong with this option.
6. Minimalism Art City Notebook
Minimalism Art delivers with another budget-friendly notebook that’s made to last.
The city-inspired designs are what makes this one really stand out. Pattern detailing continues inside the front and back covers, as well.
This notebook includes all the standard extras found in the classic Minimalism Art journal.
And in addition it has:
- numbered pages
- 234 pages (instead of 192 pages)
- a table of contents page
It’s definitely cute, stylish, and a great value.
7. BookFactory Ghost Grid Journal
Ghost Grid journals stand out from the crowd. Unlike most other bullet journals, they’re wire bound.
The books are produced in the USA and they use high opacity paper to prevent show-through. Index pages are included at the front of each one.
For a fraction of the price, one of these babies will serve you well.
8. Lemome Natural Cork Notebook
Lemome has been making a name for itself in the bullet journaling world. They make really nice, inexpensive notebooks.

9. Lemome Bullet Journal
Then of course there’s the classic black Lemome bullet journal. It’s a tried and true favorite amongst reviewers.
Compared to the previous notebook above, it’s quite similar.
The main differences are the cover material, the placement of the pen loop and non-perforated pages.
Durability is a feature you can enjoy with either, though.
Lemome notebooks can take a beating. One is sure to withstand a year of heavy use at the very least.
10. Minimalism Art Premium Edition
Minimalism Art’s Premium Edition notebooks are the best of both worlds. They have the look of luxury with an affordable price tag.
