July is one of my favorite times of the year! It usually entails picnics, fireworks, and swimming with friends.

While June marks the beginning of summer, this month is a bit bittersweet because it signifies the end is already near (whomp whomp).

The good news:

If you’re planning on attending college in the fall, you still have time to find ways to pay for school.

Career Search Scholarship

  • Award: $1,000
  • Deadline: July 1

Eligibility: Must be a high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student.

Submit: 400 – 600 word essay.

Studybay Annual Essay Contest

  • Award: $500 – $5,000
  • Deadline: July 1

Eligibility: Open to graduating high school seniors and undergraduate and graduate students who are 18 years old or older. Must be enrolled full-time at an accredited college, community college, or high school.

Submit: 550 – 1,000 word essay, 9 prompts to choose from.

Kelly O. Memorial Nursing Scholarship

  • Award: $3,500
  • Deadline: July 1

Eligibility: Any high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student who is beginning their nursing journey or furthering their nursing career through an advanced degree may apply for this scholarship.

Submit: 400 – 600 word essay on why you’re interested in a nursing career, what area of nursing you’ll specialize in, and how you’ve prepared yourself for this step in your journey.

ABC Humane Wildlife Women In STEM Scholarship

  • Award: $1,000
  • Deadline: July 1

Eligibility: Open to persons who identify as female. Graduate and undergraduate students enrolling or continuing in STEM fields of study at during the current academic year are welcome to apply.

Submit: Completed application, proof on enrollment, (1) letter of recommendation, and an essay of 1,000 words max.

Rockefeller State Wildlife Scholarship

  • Award: $2,000 – $3,000
  • Deadline: July 1

Eligibility: Must be a Louisiana Resident for at least one year prior to July 1. Must also be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student in a Louisiana Public College or University majoring in forestry, wildlife, or marine science with the intent of obtaining a degree in that field.

Undergraduate students must have earned at least 60 hours of college credit and possess a 2.50 GPA or higher. Graduate students must have a min. 3.0 GPA on all credits earned in graduate school.

Submit: FAFSA and a completed application.

Youth Equine Service Scholarship

  • Award: $1,150
  • Deadline: July 1

Eligibility: Any current student who loves working with horses and has experience working with a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization may apply for this scholarship.

Submit: 400 – 600 word essay on what you’ve learned about yourself by doing volunteer work.

Emergency Dentists USA Video Scholarship

  • Award: $1,000
  • Deadline: July 1

Eligibility: Open to high school seniors and current college students of all majors.

Submit: Short video (2 min. or less). Video submission topic: tell (or enact for us) what superpower you would love to have and how you would use it to help create better dental health in all people!

“Be Bold” No-Essay Scholarship

  • Award: $25,000
  • Deadline: July 1

Eligibility: Students at any education level, school, field of study, and GPA will be considered.

Submit: N/A

Savor Summer College Scholarship

  • Award: $500
  • Deadline: July 1

Eligibility: Open to any high school sophomore, junior, or senior with a GPA of 3.0+

Submit: (1) letter of recommendation, copy of most current high school transcripts, and essay of 500 words or less.

Kozakov Foundation Fellowship for Creatives

  • Award: $5,135
  • Deadline: July 1

Eligibility: Must be an undergraduate student studying at a film or theatre focused university/college or majoring in a film/theatre major at a non-film or theatre-focused university/college. Preference will be given to those who demonstrate passion and/or are an underrepresented minority student.

Submit: 200 – 300 word essay about why you’re pursuing an acting career, your goals, and what you’ve accomplished in the field so far. Feel free to attach any portfolio items of your work.

Learner Education Women in Mathematics Scholarship

  • Award: $1,000
  • Deadline: July 1

Eligibility: Open to female identifying current high school seniors and undergraduate students. Must study (or plan to study) mathematics or related fields.

Submit: 400 – 600 word essay on what draws you to math and how certain principles in math have shaped your understanding of the world around you.

Ascent Summer of Giveaways Scholarships

  • Award: $1,000
  • Deadline: July 3 (Enter EVERY WEEK this summer thru August 18!)

Eligibility: Open to students at least 18 years old who are legal residents of the United States. Students must be enrolled in a degree program at least half-time, or technical skills training program in a high school or post-secondary educational institution.

GoodRx Helps Future Black Physicians and Physician Associates Scholarship

  • Award: $5,000
  • Deadline: July 6

Eligibility: Open to current or recently graduated medical (MD, DO) or physician associate (PA) students. Must have 3.0 GPA or higher and self-identify as a Black or African American student in the medical field.

GoodRx Helps Nurses for Change Scholarship

  • Award: $5,000
  • Deadline: July 6

Eligibility: Open to current or recently graduated nursing students (LPN/LVN, ASN/ADN/AAS, BSN, MSN, APRN, DNP). Must have 3.0 GPA or higher and self-identify as a person from an underrepresented population in the nursing field.

Ventana Ocean Conservation Scholarship

  • Award: $3,300
  • Deadline: July 15

Eligibility: Open to high school seniors, undergraduates, and graduate students. Major must be related to ocean conservation which includes: marine biology, ocean conservation, marine science, environmental science, etc.

Submit: 400 – 600 word essay on why you care about protecting the oceans and how your degree will help you do so.

Brown Skin Agenda Aesthetics & Cosmetology Scholarship

  • Award: $10,000
  • Deadline: July 15

Eligibility: Any BIPOC student who is pursuing a career as an esthetician or in the cosmetology industry may apply for this scholarship.

Submit: 400 – 600 word essay on what inspired you to choose this career path.

Wieland Nurse Appreciation Scholarship

  • Award: $2,500
  • Deadline: July 15

Eligibility: Open to high school seniors planning to go into nursing and college students currently pursuing a nursing degree.

Submit: 400 – 600 word essay on why you chose to pursue a career in nursing and what inspired you to do so.

Ascent Community Champions Scholarship

  • Award: $1,000
  • Deadline: July 15

Eligibility: Must be at least 18 years old and a legal resident of the United States or a DACA status student. Students must have applied to or are enrolled in a degree program at least half-time, or a technical skills training program (for example, a coding bootcamp).

Parents and legal guardians may apply on behalf of students who fit the criteria, as well.

McDuffie Software Engineering Scholarship

  • Award: $1,000
  • Deadline: July 15

Eligibility: Any female student who is pursuing a four-year undergraduate degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field and is interested in becoming a software engineer may apply for this scholarship.

Submit: 400 – 600 word essay about yourself, how this scholarship will help you, and what area of software engineering you’re most excited to pursue after graduation.

Avnet Law National Scholarship

  • Award: $1,000
  • Deadline: July 15

Eligibility: Open to current and soon-to-be undergraduate and graduate students within the United States who demonstrate a spirit of volunteerism and/or community service.

Submit: Completed application essay of 1,000 words or less, and (1) letter of recommendation.

HireAHelper Skilled Trade & Technology Scholarships

  • Award: $2,000
  • Deadline: July 17

Eligibility: Must be 18 years or older, have a 3.4 GPA or higher, and currently be enrolled as a high school senior or in a community college, undergraduate, graduate, technical college, or vocational program. Must also be pursuing a degree that enables you or others in your community to learn a new trade, develop skills and technology, or start a small business related to moving services offered by HireAHelper.

Must be an undergraduate student. Students majoring in social services or health and human services are strongly encouraged to apply.

Submit: 400 – 600 word essay on how you have or plan to assist others in leaving abusive relationships and/or substance abuse addictions.

MyMozaic Monthly Scholarship Contest

  • Award: $1,000
  • Deadline: July 29

Eligibility: Applicants must be U.S. citizens or are lawfully living in the United States and at least 13 years of age on their entry date.

Law School Scholarship Contest

  • Award: $1,000

Eligibility: Applicants must be enrolled at an accredited law school within the United States.

Eligibility: Open to high school and undergraduate students, as well as parents of enrolled or soon-to-be enrolled students. Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (including DACA students).

Eligibility: Applicants must be accepted to an accredited college within the United States.

Eligibility: Must be a father who is in need of financial assistance.

Avonte Oquendo Memorial Scholarship for Autism

  • Award: $5,000
  • Deadline: July 31

Eligibility: Applicant must be diagnosed or has a close family member who has been diagnosed with a form of autism, including Asperger syndrome.

In addition, must be an enrolled student at an accredited college, university, or vocational school or be accepted to begin school at an accredited college, university, or vocational school in the semester for which the application is being offered.

Submit: Completed application, 500 – 1000 word essay, and official or unofficial transcript.

Eskew Law Scholarship

  • Award: $1,500
  • Deadline: July 31

Eligibility: Applicants must be the child of a parent who has a felony conviction, have a 3.0 GPA, and are currently enrolled in an accredited technical school, college, or university in the U.S.
