Between standardized testing, applying to college, going to class, extracurricular activities, and more – your senior year in high school can be a whirlwind!

And as you know, figuring out funding is a key component of making your plans and preparations to go to college. It’s hard to find time to track down scholarship opportunities for high school students, much less work on the applications themselves!

I put together the list October scholarships for high school seniors down below. Now you’ll be able to quickly find out which ones you qualify for this month.

23 October Scholarships for High School Seniors


1. Employment BOOST College Scholarship

Deadline: October 1, 2020
Award Amount: $1,000
Eligibility: Applicant must be currently enrolled in college or as a senior in high school, and have a minimum GPA of 3.6.

2. AES Engineering Scholarship
GO HERE TO APPLY
Deadline: October 5, 2020
Award Amount: $500
Eligibility: Applicants must be a high school senior OR a student attending a post-secondary educational facility. Applicants are not required to be taking engineering courses to be eligible.

3. Black Students in Tech Grant
GO HERE TO APPLY
Deadline: October 11, 2020
Award Amount: $1,000
Eligibility: Applicant must be a Black student or recent graduate at any education level or field of study who is pursuing or who plans to pursue a career in the tech industry.

4. Olin E. Teague Scholarship
GO HERE TO APPLY
Deadline: October 12, 2020
Award Amount: $4,000
Eligibility: The applicant must be a U.S. Citizen; a senior year high school student with the intent of attending an accredited U.S. college or university in the Fall of 2020; and plan to pursue undergraduate or graduate studies in an aerospace field.

5. NSCA High School Scholarship

Deadline: October 15, 2020
Award Amount: $2,000
Eligibility: Applicant must be a senior in high school with a GPA of 3.0+ and will be attending college in the fall following high school graduation. Must also be a current member of the NSCA and plan on majoring in the strength and conditioning field.

6. AmericanTrucks Student Scholarships

Deadline: October 15, 2020
Award Amount: $2,500
Eligibility: Application open students who meet one of the following criteria:

  • Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited United States technical institute, 2/4 year college/university with program in construction management, secondary votech school or tuition bearing apprenticeship program in the traditional building trades(e.g. carpentry, HVAC, electrical or related fields of study). Students pursuing certificate programs or apprenticeship programs are welcome to apply.
  • Currently attending high school and will be attending an accredited school in the next academic year to one of the aforementioned programs.

7. Extreme Terrain’s Student Scholarships

Deadline: October 15, 2020
Award Amount: $2,500
Eligibility: Open to undergraduate college/university students and high school seniors who are pursuing a degree in environmental studies, ecology, land use, earth & atmospheric sciences, sustainable land management, environmental biology, sustainable agriculture systems.

8. The Music Center’s Spotlight Program
GO HERE TO APPLY
Deadline: October 16, 2020
Award Amount: $100 – $5,000
Eligibility: Must be a Southern California high school student who attends a public, private, online or home school. Your home base must be in one of these counties: Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, Santa Barbara, Kern, San Diego, Riverside or San Bernardino.

*You can apply to one or more of these categories: Acting, Ballet, Dance, Classical Voice, Non-Classical Voice, Classical Instrumental or Jazz Instrumental.

9. Dr Pepper Tuition Giveaway

Deadline: October 17, 2020 (Official deadline TBD)
Award Amount: $2,500 – $100,000
Eligibility: Participants must be US residents between the ages of 18 – 24 by 12/6/20. 

10. Innovation Education Scholarship

Deadline: October 20, 2020
Award Amount: $500
Eligibility: Must currently be enrolled as a high school or college/university student within the United States or Canada.

11. You Deserve It Scholarship
GO HERE TO APPLY
Deadline: October 20, 2020
Award Amount: $1,000
Eligibility: Must be at least 16 years of age and a resident of any of the 50 United States, District of Columbia or US Territories (except for Rhode Island and Michigan). Additionally, you must either be enrolled now, or will be enrolled within three months of applying for the scholarship, in a qualified high school, college or university within the United States.

12. Horatio Alger Scholarship

Deadline: October 26, 2020
Award Amount: $25,000
Eligibility: Must be enrolled full time as a high school senior in the United States; be progressing normally toward graduation in spring/summer of 2021 with plans to enter a college in the United States no later than the fall following graduation. Must also maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0; demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required); and display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity.

13. “Be Bold” No-Essay Scholarship

Deadline: October 31, 2020
Award Amount: $10,000
Eligibility: Open to students at any education level. Students at any education level, school, and field of study will be considered. No GPA requirement.

14. Chick Evans Scholarship for Caddies
GO HERE TO APPLY
Deadline: October 30, 2020
Award Amount: FULL Tuition + Housing
Eligibility: Applicants must have caddied, regularly and successfully, for a minimum of two years and are expected to caddie at their sponsoring club the year they apply for the scholarship. Applicants must have completed their junior year of high school with above a B average in college preparatory courses and must clearly have a need for financial assistance.

*Due to COVID-19, caddie loops in 2020 are expected to be negatively impacted for this this year’s applicants. Due to COVID-19 the ACT and SAT will be optional for 2020 applicants.

15. MyMozaic Monthly Scholarship Contest

Deadline: Last day of each month
Award Amount: $1,000
Eligibility: Open to students who are enrolled in a high school or college and who are at least 13 years old.

16. VFW Voice of Democracy Scholarship
GO HERE TO APPLY
Deadline: October 31, 2020
Award Amount: $1,000 – $30,000
Eligibility: Open to all students in grade 9 – 12 enrolled in a public, private, or parochial high school or home study program in the U.S. and its territories.

17. Cappex Easy Money Scholarship

Deadline: October 31, 2020
Award Amount: $1,000

Eligibility:
Open to current high school students who are expected to enroll in post-secondary education (college, university, or trade school) within 2 years.

18. Coca-Cola Scholars Program

Deadline: October 31, 2020
Award Amount: $20,000
Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen (not a Temporary Resident), U.S. Nationals, U.S. Permanent Residents, Refugees, Asylees, Cuban-Haitian Entrants, or Humanitarian Parolees. Open to current high school/home-schooled students attending a school in one of the 50 U.S. states, Puerto Rico, or select DoD schools who will graduate high school during the 2020-2021 academic school year.

19. National Rice Month Scholarship Contest

Deadline: October 31, 2020
Award Amount: $1,500 – $4,000
Eligibility: Open to graduating high school students from rice-growing states –Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Texas.

20. CollegeXpress No-Essay Scholarship

Deadline: October 31, 2020
Award Amount: $1,000

Eligibility:
Open to high school students.

21. Nitro College Scholarship

Deadline: October 31, 2020
Award Amount: $5,000
Eligibility: Open to United States or District of Columbia residents age 17 and older. Must be a high school senior or currently enrolled in college.

22. Design for Recovery Sober Living Scholarship
GO HERE TO APPLY
Deadline: October 31, 2020
Award Amount: $1,000
Eligibility: Applicants must be currently enrolled at an accredited university or attend high school full-time. The scholarship is offered to help students who fight every day to overcome the devastating effects of addiction. If you or a loved one deal with alcoholism or drug addiction, you are encouraged to apply.

23. Niche “No Essay” College Scholarship

Award Amount: $2,000
Eligibility: Open to all high school and college students, as well as anyone looking to attend college or graduate school in the next year.
