A handy list of September scholarships for college students and high school students!

The last thing you want to worry about in college, is how to pay for it. But of course, that is an important detail.

Hunting down current scholarship opportunities takes time, though.

And when you’re in school there are other things that require your attention – like studying, homework, socializing, and adjusting to the routine of a new semester.

To help you out:

I put together a list of scholarships September 2021 deadlines, so you focus your time on the applications instead of spending hours just looking for them.

ABFSE Scholarship Program

Deadline: September 1, 2021 Award Amount: $1,500 – $2,500 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Applicant must have completed at least one semester (or quarter) of study in a program in funeral service or mortuary science education. Must also have at least one term or semester remaining in his/her program.

Submit: Online application form, personal essay, work/community service history, 2 letters of recommendation, and official transcripts.

Nervo “Revolution” Scholarship

Deadline: September 1, 2021 Award Amount: $3,000 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Female students in the US at all levels of study are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Submit: 200 – 750 word essay on your biggest artistic ambition.

Beldon Scholarship

Deadline: September 1, 2021 Award Amount: $1,000 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Must be seeking a degree in business, management, communications, marketing or related field and have a minimum 3.5 GPA.

Submit: 1,500 – 2,000 word essay + official transcripts. 

Dr. Joseph and Sonya Landholm Scholarship

Deadline: September 1, 2021 Award Amount: up to $4,500 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Applications will be accepted from either veterinary students originally from Nebraska or from Nebraska licensed practitioners who are NVMA members.

Submit: 1,500 – 2,000 word essay + official transcripts.

Cambridge & Oxford Summer School Essay Competition

Deadline: September 1, 2021 Award Amount: 100% scholarship to study their chosen subject with Immerse GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Students of all nationalities who will be aged 13-18 during the summer of 2022 may apply.

Submit: Online application and an essay of no more than 500 words. 

Soo Joo Park Scholarship for Asian American Women

Deadline: September 1, 2021 Award Amount: $2,000 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: The scholarship is open to Asian American women ages 16 and up from immigrant backgrounds in any field of study and educational level.

Submit: 800 – 1000 words about your experience as an Asian American woman.

Environmental Awareness Scholarship

Deadline: September 1, 2021 Award Amount: $1,000 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: All students may apply, including international students.

Submit: 800 – 1,000 word essay. 

MaxHome Scholarship

Deadline: September 1, 2021 Award Amount: $1,500 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Student must be a U.S. undergrad in business, business management, advertising, marketing, or related fields; applicants must also have a minimum 3.5 GPA.

Submit: 1,000 – 1,500 word essay and official transcripts.

Chris Jackson Computer Science Education Scholarship

Deadline: September 1, 2021 Award Amount: $5,000 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Open to undergraduate students who are pursuing a computer science degree.

Submit: 300 – 500 word essay on your interest in pursuing a computer science degree, your career aspirations, and why you think you should receive the award.

2021 Creative Outlook Cover Scholarship

Deadline: September 1, 2021 Award Amount: $250 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Open to current college level students, as well as current high school students.

Submit: Original artwork for the cover of a magazine. 

Cameron Impact Scholarship

Deadline: September 10, 2021 Award Amount: FULL tuition for four years GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Must be a graduating high school student for the class of 2022; maintain a minimum cumulative unweighted 3.7 GPA; demonstrate passion and commitment to extracurricular activities; and demonstrate active participation in community service and in civic-minded arenas.

Submit: Online Application, 2 letters of recommendation, and transcript certifying academic performance.

GoSkills Scholarship

Deadline: September 15, 2021 Award Amount: $2,000 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Open any female high-school or college student, who wants to start her own online business.

Submit: An online application and a business plan for an online business.

Imagine Dragons Origins Scholarship

Deadline: September 15, 2021 Award Amount: $2,500 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Open to refugee, immigrant, or first-generation American students to achieve their educational dreams.

Submit: 200 – 1000 word essay about your cultural experience as a refugee, immigrant, or first-generation American, and how the challenges you’ve faced have shaped your dreams and vision for the future.

Don’t Text & Drive Scholarship

Deadline: September 15, 2021 Award Amount: $1,000 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Open to any student, 24 years old or younger, that is currently admitted or enrolled in a four-year college/university or graduate school or will be applying to one in the next calendar year.

Submit: 500+ word essay.

The May Firm Scholarship

Deadline: September 15, 2021 Award Amount: $1,000 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Open to students enrolled at a community college or university.

Submit: Online application, 300+ word essay, and a copy of your resume.

Markforged Distinguished Teachers in STEM Scholarship

Deadline: September 15, 2021 Award Amount: $1,955 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Teachers in any field of STEM are encouraged to apply.

Submit: 400 – 600 word essay about how you became a STEM educator and how this award would help you enable the growth and development of budding STEM students.

Nicholas A. Pennipede Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: September 15, 2021 Award Amount: $1,000 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Open to applicants that have been accepted to an accredited college or university and are going to be enrolled full-time within the next six (6) months; OR students that have been accepted to an optometry school and are going to be enrolled as an optometry student within the next six (6) months.

Submit: Online application, 500 – 800 word essay, and proof of enrollment.

Ascent’s Champions Scholarship

Deadline: September 16, 2021 Award Amount: $1,000 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Students that are enrolled in a degree program at least half-time, or technical skills training program (for example, a coding bootcamp) and are at least 18 years of age.

Submit: Online application, subscribe to Youtube channel, like a video, and leave a comment. 

Ascent’s Easiest Scholarship

Deadline: September 20, 2021 Award Amount: $1,000 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Students that are enrolled in a degree program at least half-time, or technical skills training program (for example, a coding bootcamp) and are at least 18 years of age.

Submit: Online application and complete a survey.

Becoming a Singer-Songwriter Idol Scholarship

Deadline: September 20, 2021 Award Amount: $1,000 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Scholarship will be awarded to one minority student (high school or undergraduate) who wishes to pursue their passion for singing and musical performance.

Submit: N/A

Innovation Education Scholarship

Deadline: September 20, 2021 Award Amount: $500 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Open to any high school or college student within the U.S. or Canada with a cumulative GPA of 3.0+.

Submit: Online application, letter of recommendation, self-photo, and an essay describing the goal of the particular project and provide supporting documentation (no min or max word/page count).

Atlas Shrugged Essay Contest

Deadline: September 27, 2021 Award Amount: $500 – $10,000 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Entrant must be a 12th grader, college undergraduate, or graduate student for any part of the school year in which the contest is held. Contest is open to students worldwide, except where void or prohibited by law.

Submit: 800 – 1,600 word essay.

No Essay ‘You Deserve It’ Scholarship

Deadline: September 29, 2021 Award Amount: $2,222 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Must be at least 16 years of age and a resident of any of the 50 United States, District of Columbia or US Territories (except for Rhode Island and Michigan). Additionally, you must either be enrolled now, or will be enrolled within three months of applying for the scholarship, in a qualified high school, college or university within the United States.

Submit: Super short online form.

MyMozaic Monthly Scholarship Contest

Deadline: September 29, 2021 Award Amount: $2,000 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or are lawfully living in the United States and at least 13 years of age on the date of their entry.

Submit: Your email address. Selection is based on the quality of students’ MyMozaic profile.

Ascent’s Shining Stars Scholarship

Deadline: September 30, 2021 Award Amount: $1,000 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Students that are enrolled in a degree program at least half-time, or technical skills training program (for example, a coding bootcamp) and are at least 18 years of age.

Submit: Like an Instagram post, read an article, and leave a comment.

“Be Bold” No-Essay Scholarship

Deadline: September 30, 2021 Award Amount: $25,000+ GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Open to students at any education level. Students at any education level, school, and field of study will be considered. No GPA requirement.

Optimal Community College Scholarship

Deadline: September 30, 2021 Award Amount: $2,000 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Open to legal residents of the United States (excluding Rhode Island, Guam, Puerto Rico, and Virgin Islands) who are at least 16 years of age. Applicants for this scholarship should be enrolled at a public community college, junior college, technical college, or city college, and working towards a certificate, diploma, or degree at the associate’s level or a first-time bachelor’s level.

Submit: Online application and (2) 300 – 500 word personal statements. 

Optimal Undergraduate Scholarship

Deadline: September 30, 2021 Award Amount: $2,000 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Open to legal residents of the United States (excluding Rhode Island, Guam, Puerto Rico, and Virgin Islands) who are at least 16 years of age. Must be an undergraduate student enrolled at an accredited post-secondary academic institution.

Submit: Online application and (2) 300 – 500 word personal statements. 

Optimal Online Degree Scholarship

Deadline: September 30, 2021 Award Amount: $2,000 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Open to legal residents of the United States (excluding Rhode Island, Guam, Puerto Rico, and Virgin Islands) who are at least 16 years of age. Applicants for this scholarship should be enrolled at a private or public educational institution, and working towards a certificate, diploma, or degree at the associate’s, bachelor’s or post-bachelor’s level. The academic program must be pursued online – all classes require little to no attendance on campus.

Submit: Online application and (2) 300 – 500 word personal statements. 

Nitro College Scholarship

Deadline: September 30, 2021 Award Amount: $2,000 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Open to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, age 17 or older at the time of entry. Must be one of the following; high school senior, current college student, parent of a high school or college student, a student or a parent whose child has graduated from an accredited undergraduate school and who is currently paying back a student or parent loan for his/her/child’s educational expenses for such school.

Shout it Out Scholarship

Deadline: September 30, 2021 Award Amount: $1,500 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Open to applicants who are at least 14 years old.

Eligibility: Applicant must be 17 years or older and plan to start a program of higher education within the next 12 months or is currently enrolled in a program of higher education.

CTS Future Trade Leaders Fellowship​

Deadline: September 30, 2021 Award Amount: $8,000 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Applicants must identify as female, be a rising junior or senior currently enrolled at an accredited university or college, and be studying supply chain/logistics, homeland security, international trade, economics, marketing, or a related field.

Submit: 300 – 400 word essay, transcript, resume, SAR report from FAFSA.

“Because College is Expensive” Scholarship

Deadline: September 30, 2021 Award Amount: $500 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Open to high school juniors & seniors, adults looking to head back to school, current college students and anyone else looking to attend college or graduate school.

Cappex Easy Money Scholarship

Deadline: September 30, 2021 Award Amount: $1,000 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Open to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, age 13 or older at the time of entry, and and currently planning to enroll in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher learning (college, university or trade school) located in the United States within four years.

Courage to Grow Scholarship

Diversity in Music Education Scholarship​

Eligibility: Open to all minority students who are interested in, already enrolled in, or are recent graduates with a degree in the arts.

Submit: Short video about why music and the arts are important to culture and how they can be used to promote cross-cultural inclusion.

AfterCollege STEM Inclusion Scholarship

Deadline: September 30, 2021 Award Amount: $500 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Open to currently enrolled students working toward a degree in a field of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics from a group underrepresented in their field of study.

Submit: Online application and 200 words or less personal statement.

AfterCollege Business Student Scholarship

Eligibility: Open to currently enrolled students working toward a degree (AA,AS, BA,BS, MS, PhD) in a field of business. Business may include (but is not limited to): Accounting, Advertising, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Human Resources, International Relations, Management, Political Science, Public Relations, etc. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

AfterCollege Engineering & Technology Student Scholarship

Eligibility: Open to currently enrolled students working toward a degree (AA,AS,AAS, BA,BS, MS, PhD) in a field of engineering, technology and/or mathematics. This can include (but is not limited to): Computer Science, Cybersecurity, etc with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Key Thinkers Scholarship

Eligibility: Must be at least 18 years old and enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college, university, or trade school in the United States with a minimum GPA of 3.0 (open to incoming post-secondary students).

Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs Scholarship

Deadline: September 30, 2021 Award Amount: up to $3,500 GO HERE TO APPLY

Eligibility: Open to students currently enrolled in or entering a certificate or degree program which leads to a manufacturing career on a full-time basis (12 or more credit hours). Must have a 2.5 GPA for trade, community, or technical colleges or 3.0 GPA for universities.

Weiss & Paarz Annual Rising Star Scholarship

Weiss & Paarz National Law School Scholarship

Eligibility: Open to a student starting or continuing law school anywhere in the United States of America.

Education Connection Military Scholarship

Eligibility: Applicants must be military active duty, honorably discharged, veteran, or a spouse from any branch of the military; 18 years of age or older at the time of application; and, are enrolled, or do enroll no later than the fall of 2022 in an accredited institution of higher learning.
