DISCLAIMER: I received a free planner from Class Tracker in exchange for this review. However all thoughts, experiences & opinions are my own.
It’s one of the keys to success for college students – and not just for freshmen. All the way up through senior year and graduate school, being organized is super important!
One of the BEST ways to stay on top of assignments, classes and extracurriculars, is to use a planner.
Not just any planner.
An ultimate college planner, tailored for busy students is what you really want.
After all, why use just any old planner when you can use one that is made SPECIFICALLY for college students? To me, it just makes sense to use a tool that’s designed with a specific purpose in mind.
I like to optimize my efforts in life, and if you feel the same way…
…then boy, oh boy, do I have an ultimate college planner to show you!
In this article I’ll be reviewing the 2018 – 2019 Ultimate Student Planner: College Edition by Class Tracker.

My Class Tracker Ultimate Student Planner Review
The Planner Details
First things first:
What’s the Class Tracker Ultimate Student Planner like? What does it feel like to hold?
Well, let me describe it:
This planner has a soft flexible cover, with a thick plastic coil binding. I picked the vibrant violet color, but there 6 color options (one is even meant to be colored in!).
It feels light in my hands, but sturdy enough to survive a year’s worth backpack trips.
The front and back covers have an extra barrier between them and the outside world: a protective, frosted cover on both sides.
My first impressions for this review are that it’s a quality item.
I gotta love that these are designed and printed right here in The United States (California), too!
We all know that with planners, it’s what’s on the inside that really counts.
What’s Going On Under the Hood
What I first came across when I open the Ultimate Student Planner are pages for a semester/trimester schedule.
Keeping track of what classes you’re taking and when all in one place, is a HUGE perk for college students. Especially during the first few weeks of school being back in session.
I like that trimesters were thought of for this planners design, as not every is on semester track.
After those pages:
There is a page for writing down goals.
Past that page, we start to get into how the majority of this college planner is laid out!
The monthly spread pages are pretty typical of what most planners will have:
There is some space for each day and another area for writing short term goals.
This planner goes from August 2018 – June of 2019.
Let’s take a look at my favorite part of this College Planner – which would have to be the weekly/daily pages!
Why do I love this part of planner most?
Because it’s perfect as a college planner for students!
The layout is well thought out – it has what other planners lack for academic planners.
There is space specifically for tracking assignments and upcoming quizzes/exams/paper/projects.
I can just imagine that:
On the day that class syllabuses are handed it, it would be SO easy to add all the due dates to this planner. Highlight them to make missed assignments and forgotten exams a thing of the past!
The added “To Do” list in the bottom right is handy, too.
Though I use to-do lists so often that I would probably ended using the “Daily Plan” area in addition for writing them!
That’s what most of the inside of the Class Tracker Ultimate Student Planner looks like. Pretty useful, right?
There are a few page variations I thought I’d share in this Class Tracker Ultimate Student Planner Review.
For Thanksgiving and Winter Break instead of the usual layout, we have some blank space.
I like that the planner design takes these changes in a students schedule into account!
Little touches like this really reinforce that it’s designed for college use.
In the back of the planner there are a couple of pages for notes.
I can see them being helpful when you need to write something down when you’re on-the-go. Not enough pages to use for class, though FYI.
To Sum Up the Highlights of the Class Tracker Ultimate Student Planner
Here’s what I really love about it:
- Tailored to students – the day to day planning pages show that.
- The size is just right – not so big that it’s a chore to take with you, and not so small that you have to write really tiny.
- The design is simple – it’s got what’s needed for planning and no useless extras.
Overall, I think this is a GREAT and a solid college planner option.
There is one small thing I don’t totally love about it.
Compared to other planners I’ve used before, the paper is a bit thin.
Testing it myself:
I found that if you’re a heavy-handed writer (like me), you can see the impressions of what you wrote on the back of the page. All the pages are printed back to back, so this may bother some people.
I gave it the Sharpie test too and the ink bled through the page.
I personally don’t write with Sharpies in my planner, but this could be an issue if you do.
Highlighters, however, do NOT bleed through.
But really, that’s the ONE flaw I found for this Class Tracker Ultimate Student Planner Review. It’s something that won’t even matter to a lot of people.
I’d give the Class Tracker Ultimate Student Planner a 9/10.
Again, I LOVE as a college planner! It’s SUPER practical for keeping up with a busy schedule.
It just may not be quite right for you if handwriting with fancy pens is your jam.
But, share with me:
